How to Create Partition in Windows 10 & Windows 11 | Create a New Drive in Windows 10
You can create a new partition in Windows 10 by following these steps:
1. Press the Windows key + X and select "Disk Management" from the menu. In the Disk Management window, locate the disk where you want to create a new partition.
2. Right-click on the unallocated space or the partition you want to shrink and select "New Simple Volume" from the context menu.
3. In the New Simple Volume Wizard, click "Next" to proceed.
4. Specify the size of the new partition you want to create. You can either enter the size in megabytes (MB) or use the default maximum available space.
5. Click "Next" and choose a drive letter for the new partition. You can also choose to mount the partition in an empty folder.
6. Click "Next" and choose a file system for the new partition. The default is usually NTFS.
7. In the next screen, you can enter a name for the new partition. This is optional.
8. Click "Finish" to create the new partition. The new partition will now be visible in File Explorer.
Note: It's important to back up your data before creating a new partition, as partitioning can sometimes lead to data loss. Also, make sure you don't accidentally format or delete existing partitions while creating a new one.
