Wharton Sports Analytics Research Lab – Student Spotlight
Since 2017, the Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative (WSABI) has hosted students from around the world as they participate in the Wharton Moneyball Academy, a three-week summer course on advanced statistics and mathematics through the lens of sports.
This summer, WSABI introduced the Sports Analytics Research Lab, a new opportunity for Moneyball teaching assistants (all of whom are undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania) to learn PhD-level statistical concepts and pursue their own sports research projects.
We tagged along with Zeke Kelz, SEAS'24, to highlight his summer experience with the lab.
