Expert 40 - The Hardest Challenge in Super Monkey Ball

Super Monkey Ball is a game renowned for its extremely high difficulty, with levels such as Expert 7 (Exam-C) being notorious roadblocks to players' progression through Expert mode. However, no floor in the game comes anywhere close to the difficulty of achieving a perfect clear on Expert 40, the final bonus floor. Achieving a perfect score of 5000 on E40 is leagues harder than it looks, and of all "holy grail" achievements in SMB1, this was the last to be completed. Multiple players had performed deathless / warpless completions of the entire Expert through Master difficulty, or compelted the 0.1 path on E09 before anyone scored 5000 on E40. Now, after over 20 years of SMB competition, only 10 players have ever demonstrated the skill and dedication required to complete Super Monkey Ball's near-impossible challenge.
