How to Install WSL Feature on Windows
Step 1: Enable WSL via Windows Features
Open Run Command:
Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.
Turn Windows Features On or Off:
In the left panel, click on Turn Windows features on or off.
Enable WSL:
Scroll down, find Windows Subsystem for Linux, and check the box next to it.
Install and Restart:
Click OK and let the feature install. Once complete, restart your computer when prompted.
Step 2: Install Ubuntu from Microsoft Store
Open Microsoft Store:
After restarting, click the Start button, search for Microsoft Store, and open it.
Search for Ubuntu:
In the Microsoft Store, search for Ubuntu (or any preferred Linux distribution like Debian, Kali, etc.).
Download and Install:
Select Ubuntu, click Install, and wait for the installation to complete.
Step 3: Set Up Ubuntu and WSL
Launch WSL:
After the installation, click the Start button, search for Ubuntu, and open it.
Create User and Password:
When you open Ubuntu for the first time, you will be prompted to create a username and password for the Linux system.
Start Using WSL:
Once set up, you can start using Linux commands in WSL as you would on any Linux machine.
