Prof Tim Spiller - Quantum Communications Hub, Quantum Technologies, 'Quantum City', Careers Advice
I interview my former PhD advisor Prof Tim Spiller of the University of York, who is a professor in Quantum Information Technologies and the director of the York centre for Quantum Technologies. Prof Spiller shares how he got into physics, and discusses the emerging field of quantum technologies, in particular the UK's Quantum Communications Hub. We also touch on outreach activities such as 'Quantum City' and the Quantum Ambassadors scheme (which introduces quantum tech ideas to students), and whether quantum physics in A-level syllabi needs updating.
