*Whilst not recording, it gets about double, maybe triple the frame-rate, so it is indeed playable. *

Minecraft performance benchmark using a 2005 Dell Latitude D510. I recorded this in minecraft 1.7.10, and am using optifine to improve performance.
---
Man, I had to work some magic to get this to work.
I was playing this in 320x240 resolution, and recorded it in the lowest quality possible, for all the performance I could get. There is sound, it's just REALLY quiet, the computer was under strain and did not record very audible audio.
---
Computer Specs:
-CPU: Intel Celeron 1.5 GHz (single core)
-GPU: Intel GMA 900 (128mb)
-RAM: 512mb DDR2 (I think it's DDR2, could be older)
-Hard Drive: 40 Gb, 5400 RPM (I don't even think it's that fast, probably more like 4200 RPM)
---
With a 1.5 GHz (single core!) processor, this computer should not be able to play this game. the minimum requirements for Minecraft is supposedly a 2.6 GHz (single core) processor; almost twice as fast as the one in this Dell. Also the minimum RAM requirements is 2 Gb; quadruple what this Dell has.
It was also a miracle in itself I was able to record this on a single core processor… and play minecraft… at the same time! :o
Because of this, I could not record settings higher than what I did in the video, because it would have crashed(even when not recording, putting the render distance at 12 will crash the entire computer).
======
If you have this computer(or a similar one), and want to play Minecraft on it, below are instructions on how to do it:
-
1. Use Automatic Update or go to Dell's drivers and downloads page(http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/u... get half decent video card drivers.
-
2.Right-click on your Minecraft icon, select "Properties" and move over to the "Compatibility" tab, and enable "Run in 640x480 screen resolution". this will make it to where when Minecraft launches, it will set your screen resolution to 640x480 automatically.(so that it can put more cpu power into Minecraft instead of the pixels on the desktop)
-
3. Download and install Optifine(http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/.... In the Minecraft launcher, in the "Optifine" profile, set the window resolution to 320x240(makes it alot faster!). If your latitude has only 512mb of ram like mine does, set the memory to 192mb, it will make it use less ram, which means more for graphics.
-
4. Download and install GameBooster(http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster). "Boost" your game before launching Minecraft. This will free up CPU time and RAM.
-
5.(Optional but recommended) Clean up your desktop, all those icons use up RAM.
Defrag your Hard Drive if you haven't in a while, your files are probably scattered all over the place.
Set either a system managed Page File, or a 2 Gb Page File, for when it runs out of RAM.
If your hard drive is old and slow, using Windows ReadyBoost with a flash drive actually helps quite a bit.
And run disk clean-up to free up some hard drive space, you'll be surprised how much useless junk is on your computer.
-
6.Then, and ONLY then, can this computer play Minecraft.

Best way for me to know you have enjoyed a video is to leave a like, Thanks!

**Hey you! :D Yeah, you there! If you enjoy my content, please spread the word about my Channel! YouTube is very over-saturated with Channels just like mine, so it's difficult for people to find me! So, I ask of you, tell your friends about me! Get them to tell their friends! And their friend's friend's friends! It really would help me expand my channel! Thanks! :D **

I have the rights to make videos showing off the program Minecraft. This is stated here: http://www.minecraft.net/terms
