David Segal, Chief Innovation Officer at Naqi, created Naqi Earbuds as a response to a friend who became a quadriplegic. The earbuds work through an “invisible interface,” where electrical signals made by clenching your jaw or lifting an eyebrow turned into commands. This technology is still-in-development, and the device could be used to control everything from wheelchairs to smart-home items.
