The UK has been battered by high winds courtesy of Storm Ciara this week. Gusts of 93 miles per hour have been registered, a few miles faster than this 90 mile an hour gale in the Brighton area in 1956.

Holiday makers in Brighton really had the wind up, when they came to grips with that 90 mile an hour gale, which went roaring through Southern England.
