the storm surge made this harder than it should be, as the serpent kept getting stuck on the lip of the ramp. first serpent went up on the first try, honest. this one made me work for it.
anyway, this is where pet serpents come from. catch your serpents during a daytime storm and they wont despawn. to catch more easily, build a coastal base near the ocean, not shallow water. a natural shallow pool is best for a pen, but my base is on a fairly steep slope, which is why i had to build and carve quite a bit. happy hunting.
