What is the difference between auto and manual scheduled tasks in Microsoft Project

2. Automatic Scheduling:
- Automatic scheduling takes care of the entire scheduling process for you.
- It considers various factors such as project start date, task durations, dependencies, resource availability, and constraints (like calendar events or holidays).
- When you switch a task to auto-scheduled mode, Microsoft Project uses its scheduling engine to calculate start and end dates based on these factors.
- Any changes to a task or its dependencies automatically update the entire project schedule.
- Auto-scheduling is particularly useful as your project plan evolves and becomes more detailed.
- Summary tasks roll up dates and durations based on subtasks when using auto-scheduling.
In summary:
- Manual Scheduling: You set specific dates for each task individually.
- Automatic Scheduling: The software calculates dates based on defined parameters.
