Calculate Linux 17.6 Installation + Guest Additions on Oracle VirtualBox [2017]
This video tutorial shows Calculate Linux 17.6 installation on Oracle VirtualBox step by step. This tutorial is also helpful to install Calculate Linux 17.6 on physical computer or laptop hardware. Calculate Linux 17.6 New Features and Improvements
Calculate Linux is a Gentoo-based family of three distinguished distributions. Calculate Directory Server (CDS) is a solution that supports Windows and Linux clients via LDAP + SAMBA, providing proxy, mail and Jabbers servers with streamlined user management. Calculate Linux Desktop (CLD) is a workstation and client distribution with KDE, MATE or Xfce desktop that includes a wizard to configure a connection to Calculate Directory Server. Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS) is live CD with a build framework for creating a custom distribution. Calculate Linux 17.6 features installation in LXC/LXD containers, theme customization, more stability with automagic dependencies support, better security as editing the kernel params now requires a password and system update can be only performed by users authorized to do so. Calculate Linux 17.6 is provided in four desktop variants, featuring KDE Plasma 5.9.5, Cinnamon 3.4.2, MATE 1.18.0 and Xfce 4.12.3. Main changes are:
- The cl-passwd tool for domain users was fixed
- Systems based on the Intel video card now start correctly
- PXE installation fixed
- NVMe drive detection fixed
- A system proxy will not be used for fetching udpate files
- Bulgarian and Kazakh input fixed
- Domain user login fixed for systems supporting encrypted profiles
- Network bridge interfaces are not configured
- Basic Estonian support was added for Calculate Utilities
