Comparison of the new Sony a7s mark 2 vs a7s mark 1 - with emphasis on the 5-axis stabilization and in-camera 4K. The ultimate film camera? =)

• Stabilization with non-native lenses: My understanding is that for any third party manual lenses you need to go to SteadyShot Manual and then set in the focal length for pitch and yaw to function; then IBIS fully functions, with all 5 axis. There would be no reason for Sony to disable x, y, and roll at that point. There is no doubt that it works great, and is a huge pluss!
• 4K: Unfortunately, I was not able to thoroughly test the 4K, in terms of detail and dynamic range, but it looked great and performed without issues on my MacBook Pro laptop. I filmed in 25fps 100mb.
• GH4 obsolete? (WARNING: Personal opinion) A lot of people have pointed out that the biggest advantage with the GH4 is now the low price - but to be honest, I think that is a very short term way of looking at it. The biggest advantage with M43 used to be it's compact size, relative to it's DSLR quality. But with cameras such as the a7, that advantage is now gone. The M43 has been around for a lot longer than the FE, so naturally there are more lenses. But from what I've seen, what "little" FE lenses there is, most of them are of very high quality. And there is a lot more coming soon. Full frame is inherently better, so if you ask me, the glory days of M43 is now gone, and full frame cameras will take over in the long run. All this, in addition to the superior quality, will make the a7 series a much better long-term investment. But that's just my opinion ;)
Test clips was filmed in Oslo at about 18:00 with these settings:
XAVC-S, ISO 3200, 1/50, 25fps, AWB, PP5
XAVC-S, ISO 409600, 1/320, 25fps, AWB, PP5
both with the Mitakon 50mm 0.95
All other clips filmed with my Canon 700D and the Canon 28mm f/1.8. Edited in Premiere Pro CC 2015.
