Now first of all, let me tell you some cars have one fan, some cars have two up front. We might call it a radiator fan, we might call one a condenser fan. Regardless the fans that are out here that blow air over the radiator and the condenser are very important. When our air conditioning is on, if they do not function, our air conditioning pressure goes through the roof because we're not cooling the condenser.
So if you're driving around with a bad fan and you have your AC on, you can damage the compressor pretty quickly and your AC won't work very well. A lot of times what will happen is when you get above 35 mph, it'll be enough natural airflow to cool that for you. So the short answer is you can drive the car a little bit but the long answer is, it's definitely not a very good idea because we can overheat and we can also damage the AC Compressor.
