What is the Bit Depth of an Image? In this video, I will explain the difference between editing images in 8-bit and 16-bit. Since 8-bit already exceeds 16 million colors, why in the world do we need to work in a bit depth that moves us into trillions of colors? Visually, they both look the same, why use the higher resolution?
I want to help your understanding of color bit depth, and deep dive into 8-Bit vs. 16-Bit vs. 32-bit. This tutorial is only a few minutes long, but guarantees you will never work in the 8-bit, bit depth again! Unless you watch until the very end.
