Step 1: Getting hosting and our domain name:
The first step is vital for our website to be live online. Hosting allows our website to be shown basically 24/7/365 online for the world to see. Our domain name is simply the name of our website. Step 2: Installing WordPress:
Here we install WordPress. WordPress is the number 1 blogging platform in the world. It also is very easy to use and has a lot of flexibility when comparing it to alternative options.
Step 3: Installing our theme and demo content:
Here we install the Astra theme. This is one of the most popular WordPress themes in the world. It’s become so popular because it is light weight, well coded, and you’re able to import beautiful demo sites. Here we’ll also import our starter site content.
Step 4: Changing our menu:
In this section I go through changing our menu. In particular, I show how to add a page, re-order pages, remove pages, and how to make a drop-down menu on our site.
Step 5: Editing our website content with Elementor:
Here we begin editing our website with Elementor. I cover the basics of editing the site here and show how easy it is to make these changes with Elementor.
Step 6: Editing our post:
In this section I go over adding blocks to our post and editing the content within it. I also briefly cover how to add a featured image, how to schedule a post, and how to remove comments from being on a post.
Step 7: Installing and using the Yoast SEO plugin:
This is an important section because I go over the Yoast plugin and discuss some of the important on-page SEO factors that you can focus on. I go through an example on our post.
Step 8: Contact form creation:
Here I quickly show how to create a contact form for our contact page of our blog and paste in the short code that we’ve generated through the WPForms plugin.
