Teenager who admitted killing schoolgirl is named as legal restrictions lifted
A teenager who admitted killing 15-year-old private schoolgirl Elianne Andam in Croydon last year can now be named as Hassan Sentamu.
Hassan Sentamu is charged with murdering Elianne on Wellesley Road, near the Whitgift Centre, at around 8.30am on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Sentamu was 17 at the time, so could not legally be named.
He pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared by video-link at the Old Bailey in March, instead admitting manslaughter. The plea was not accepted by prosecutors, and a murder trial will take place from November 25 at the same court. Sentamu also denied possessing a blade in a public place.
