The Postulates of Quantum Mechanics for a non relativistic particle moving in one dimension. Here is a statement of the postulates of quantum mechanics and a discussion on them.
First Postulate: The state is represented by a complex vector in Hilbert space.
Second Postulate: Observables are represented by a Hermitian Operator which acts on the state vector.
Third Postulate: Measurements of an observable will yield one of its eigeinvalues with a probability.
Fourth Postulate: The system evolves through time and space via the Time Dependent Schrodinger Equation.
