Adding a calendar table to your report is essential for Dataverse data because of the nature of our transactional date-stamped data. Almost every report will use some form of a date filter, or a date-based grouping. - Having a flexible and standardized calendar makes all aspects of building the semantic model easier. -
There are many, many variations on calendar tables, but I personally like the one available via the free BRAVO.BI tool available from: https://bravo.bi - it's produced by the amazing team at SQL.BI and lets you add the calendar quickly and easily with many of the common tasks automated for you.
