Here is a quick overview of the two keyword research methods.
The first method is to follow the ‘top-down’ approach. This is the traditional way of doing keyword research. Using this method, you think of general topics that might be relevant to your business. Then using different techniques, you can identify which SEO keywords to use in your campaigns. This is more suitable for new websites or blogs that don’t have a lot of content.
The second method is to use a competitor’s website as the starting point of your research. With the help of tools, you can reveal lucrative keywords for your business. This method is handy when running out of ideas or not sure what keywords to target.
