Historic hazardous wildfire smoke in the Midwest
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - On Tuesday June 27, 2023 the City of Cedar Rapids clocked the worst air quality on record according to the EPA with an AQI of 264 based on preliminary data. This is the highest since records were kept in 1980.
The historic hazardous haze caused closures and cancellation of outdoor events and sports across the Midwest.
