LAKE LADOGA is the best choice for recreation | Osinovetsky LIGHTHOUSE
Last weekend I went to the village of Lake Ladoga, which is located 60 kilometers from St. Petersburg. It will take 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there by train from Finlandsky Railway Station. You can get there faster by car.
I planned to visit three places of interest:
1. Osinovetsky lighthouse;
2. The Road of Life Museum;
3. An old steam locomotive that was used on the "Road of Life".
For those who do not know, I will explain that the railway was called the "Road of Life", along which food was supplied to besieged Leningrad after the blockade was broken in February 1943. Part of the railway was laid directly on the ice of Lake Ladoga and connected to an existing railway line in the village of Lake Ladoga. This event still has great historical significance for the village.
