When you change 4MB flash chip to 16MB
and install OpenWRT everything works fine,
but not works to Wi-Fi. Router doesn't find Wi-Fi adapter.


Problem is the wrong location of ART partition in flash chip.
That's why you need to create custom size firmware file.

This method is suitable for many TP-Link routers.
e.g. TL-WR740N, TL-WR841N and others.

CONTENT:
1. How to disassemble the router and
de-solder 4MB flash chip -- 00:19
2. How to dump original 4MB flash in to *.BIN file
-- 00:48
3. How to create custum size firmware (16MB) -- 02:09
4. Write custum 16MB Firmware to
Flash chip (Winbond 25Q12BFV) -- 07:04
5. Turn on Router and test OpenWRT -- 08:59

Commands:
Cut out BootLoader (first 128kB)
dd if=TL-WR740N_V4.21 of=Bootloader.bin bs=1 skip=0 count=131072
Cut out ART partition (last 64kB)
dd if=TL-WR740N_V4.21of=art.bin bs=1 skip=4128768 count=65536
