STEP BY STEP GUIDE
How to sign out of Gmail on Android phone
The Gmail app uses your Google account ID that is stored on your phone.
It’s the same ID used to log into all the Google apps on your device.
The only way to log out of your Gmail account on your phone is to remove the Google account
STEP 1
To remove an account from the Gmail app, we need to tap into the Google account settings on the top right of the inbox.
STEP 2
This opens a new panel and you’ll see there is an option to ‘Manage accounts on this device’
Let’s choose that now.
STEP 3
This opens the account page.
I’ll tap on the Google option
STEP 4
This opens the details of the account
To remove that account, I need to tap on the 3 dots icon in the top right to open some additional settings
STEP 5
You’ll see the option to remove account.
On some phones, this option may be shown at the bottom of the account details page.
STEP 6
If I choose that option, Google displays a prompt that asks you to confirm you want to continue with the account removal. Tap on the Remove account link to proceed.
The account page then reloads and you’ll see the Google account has been removed.
STEP 7
If I reopen the Gmail app, you’ll see that the Woogle Guides email account has been removed and you can now add a new Gmail account.
