Local Farmers, Local Fish: Largemouth Bass
Visit a farm in Southern Illinois and hear from Jim Hawkinson, co-owner and operator of Big House Fish Farm. Jim describes how largemouth bass are raised from fingerlings to market size on his farm and shares what sustainable fish farming means to him. Big House Fish Farm was one of the many stops Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant (IISG) staff made on our quest to learn more about fish farming, also known as aquaculture, in the Midwest.
