What is Onomatopoeia?
Onomatopoeia is a word that imitates the sound of the object or action the author mentions. So it’s a type of word that sounds like what is describes.

What is the purpose of Onomatopoeia?
Most of the time, words are used to tell what is happening. But with Onomatopoeias, it helps readers to hear the sounds of the words they are thinking of. It can add excitement, action, and interest to make the story more interesting.

Here are 10 examples of an onomatopoeia:
