Nissan has introduced a major redesign for its largest SUV, the 2025 Patrol. This overhaul features a more refined exterior, a technologically advanced interior, and a new powertrain. The completely revamped three-row SUV is set to strengthen its foothold in the competitive full-size SUV market.
The 2025 Patrol measures 5,205 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,955 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. This makes it 35 mm longer and wider overall compared to its predecessor.
The 2025 Patrol boasts a more upscale look while maintaining its rugged, boxy character.
At the front, it features C-shaped LED headlights and daytime running lights that enhance its wide stance. The redesigned 'V-motion' grille is now broader and body-colored, adorned with chrome horizontal bars that pay tribute to the Y60-series Patrol. The front end has been elevated and expanded to bolster its road presence.
From the side, the Patrol presents a high window line and prominent side steps, reflecting its tough and rugged heritage, according to Nissan.
The D-pillar now sports an up-swept design reminiscent of the Y61 model, creating a two-tone floating roof effect when selected.
At the rear, the tail lights are styled with a double C-shape, echoing the design of the headlights. Additionally, a bold diffuser is included, reminiscent of an underbody scuff plate, underscoring the vehicle's off-road capabilities.
The new infotainment system incorporates a range of Google features, including Google Maps, which can be shown directly in front of the driver. It also boasts a head-up display for essential vehicle information and Google Assistant with cloud-based voice recognition for accurate speech interpretation.
Additionally, a segment-first climate control system uses infrared biometrics to measure the skin temperatures of occupants across all three seating rows, adjusting the air conditioning intensity to ensure optimal comfort.
Under the hood, the new model offers two engine choices. The standard option is a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated engine, delivering 316 horsepower and 386 Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency of 9.7 km/liter.
The alternative is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, producing 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, and achieving a fuel economy of 10.1 km/liter.
Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle offers six driving modes: Rock, Sand, Mud, Standard, Eco, and Sport.
Nissan highlights enhancements to both approach and departure angles, with the air suspension now capable of raising the ride height by 70 mm for better off-road performance. The vehicle also features a rear differential lock, a full-time four-wheel-drive system, and the option to switch between 4H and 4L modes.
