As the sun sets on the country of Maecyra, frantic footsteps can be heard along the riverbed. She keeps her quick pace for such a frail stature. Who knows how far she has gone now? She collapses onto the soft earth to catch her breath, her chest pushing in and out with such force. In the stillness, she glances across the river framing the city unfamiliar to her. She had never been this far from home.
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the faintest sound in the distance behind her. Is someone following her? Best not to find out. She won't stop until she leaves this place.
