The M252 81 mm medium heavy mortar is typically used to provide long range indirect fire support to light infantry, air assault, and airborne units across the entire front of a battalion conflict zone. With effective kill radius of 115ft (35m), it is deployed in infantry battalion mortar platoons in the United States Army and Marine Corps.
