The L0v3star remix of ‘The Dream’ takes a fascinating divergence from Starita’s original - dramatic, compositional ambient, cinematic sounding - version to a more ambient, electronic, jazz-y, experimental rendition. L0v3star (humanly known as Greg Papania) is well recognized for his work with Snoop Dogg, Amy Winehouse, Patti LaBelle, Gwen Stefani and other Grammy® Award winning artists. ‘The Dream,’ featuring acclaimed trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, soulful singer Trent Park, and guitarist Robin Applewood, premiered by Glide Magazine on May 4, 2021, drew fans worldwide to experience the emotional sense of ‘purification’ interpreted through sound design. Utilizing sound art, specifically, vocal melody and chord progression to reflect the visceral quality of the human emotional experience within ‘The Dream,’ to provide an access point for healing, uniquely defines Starita’s work. Starita shares, “I felt honored that Greg resonated with this song enough to put his mark on this remix. Not only is Greg an extraordinary human being, masterful sound artist, but the work he does in the space of sound healing - using music as a tool to balance mind, body, and spirit - is invaluable; contributing to overall mental health and well-being. While the original track was a deep, cathartic, emotional rollercoaster that addressed the purge or cleansing aspect of the healing journey after a person has hit bottom, I feel that this remix picks up seamlessly to get the listener into a mode of recovery and alignment. Hence, completing the journey from being broken to becoming whole again.”
“...“The Dream,” a sure standout on the upcoming EP that showcases Starita’s unique and open-minded approach to collaboration. With delicate instrumentation that is enhanced by fitting visuals of serene settings, the song is a soothing journey into the idea of purification. There is an element of orchestral pop that is elevated through the enchanting jazz trumpet of Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, who lets his instrument float beautifully over the sonic landscape. Trent Park’s vocals add a level of emotional power to the song, slowly building alongside the music to reach a cathartic release. “The Dream” is truly a collaboration between artists who managed to tap into the same musical wavelength and make something special.” - Glide Magazine
At first listen, audiences are gradually drawn in by a lush, expansive vibrational canvas that lifts them into another space and time. Without realizing it, they are transformed into a complete state of calm and relaxation. This is the groundbreaking work behind Papania’s creations and mood harmonizing work with SINES, a music and technology company that is dedicated to mental health & wellness through music. “I was drawn to ‘The Dream’ especially because of Christian's trumpet and felt like I could create something very original by remixing the acoustic and electronic elements Starita crafted together in the original song. When I create, I let the universe guide me. No thinking. I just paint with sound. I wanted to create an ambient space jazz piece and have it feel uplifting, calming, and other-worldly. I converted the song to 432 Hz and stitched in subtle alpha binaural waves. The 432 Hz tuning is in direct geometric and harmonic alignment with the sacred geometry and mathematics of the human body, plants, animals, earth, and the quantum construct of the Earth “reality.” This is proven science and mathematics coupled with metaphysics. This tuning supports mental health and wellness via brainwave balancing and embodied relaxation; furthering the alpha binaural wave supports brain hemisphere synchronization. This technical speak simply means that the body has a natural way of re-balancing itself and the use of sound helps to guide us back into that state. Listeners have gotten used to 440 Hz tuning over the last 100 years. 440 Hz has certain wavelengths the body and brain are used to. 432 Hz has longer wavelengths that we are not accustomed to, so, when the body and brain perceive such new stimuli, an immersion and relaxation is felt by the listener,” Papania elaborates.
“If I were to paint a picture of this remix, it would be a vision of…nighttime, a man with jet hair woven with gold in a pharaoh’s regalia, standing on the edge of a barren planet bellowing his soul through a trumpet whose sound echoes off the galaxy. From here, we take flight on a vibrational river of analog synths and are swept into space; rocketing peacefully through holographic fractals and color arrays. At the end of this journey, we are brought to the sobering conclusion that it was all a dream as the acoustic guitar arpeggiates from an adjacent room. We open our eyes; finding ourselves at sunrise on a cliff above the beach,” recites Greg.
“After listening to this sound journey, I hope that the listeners felt peace, love, and obtained new perspectives on time, space, music, and composition,” Papania concludes.
