Warbath bil Ashta | Shaabiyath | Cream filled Baklava
Ingredients for Ashta:
Milk-2 cups
Semolina - 3 tablespoon
Corn flour - 3 tablespoon
Sugar - 3 tablespoon
Orange blossom water-1/2 teaspoon
Mix all the ingredients except orange blossom. Mix until you get lump free mixture. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. when you get a pudding consistency, add orange blossom water and switch off the flame . Let it cool.
Ingredients for Sugar syrup:
Sugar syrup-1 cup
Water-1 cup
Lemon juice-1 teaspoon
Rose water-1/2 teaspoon
Method:
Boil sugar, water and lemon juice. Simmer for 5 minutes and add rose water. Switch off the flame and let it cool.
Phyllo dough- Take as per the size of your pan.
Here I used 4, cut into 4.
Melted butter (unsalted) -100g
Arrange half of the phyllo sheets and spread butter after each addition.
Add ashta and make a layer.
Cover with remaining sheets and spread butter.
Preheat the oven at 200C for 10 minutes. Bake for 25-30 minutes/ Untill golden.
Once golden, take out from the oven and drizzle the prepared sugar syrup.
