Prabhat – A community development initiative of HUL
Prabhat, the sustainable community development initiative of Hindustan Unilever Limited started in 2013 to uplift and empower the communities around Hindustan Unilever Ltd.’s manufacturing and depot sites in India. What started as a livelihood enhancement initiative in the early days is now a holistic community development programme focused on 3 thematic areas - health & nutrition, environmental sustainability through water stewardship and waste management, and economic empowerment initiatives focusing on improving the quality of life for the communities.
Prabhat, over the past 10 years of its dedicated service in the communities has positively impacted nearly 10 million lives in 21 states and 2 union territories.
