Lolita Rowe, former community outreach archivist for the Rose Library, discusses the yellowbacks collection and the significance of these cheap, mass-produced books in improving literacy among the middle class during the Victorian era.

Calliope’s Cabinet is an exploration of curious innovations through the ages. The project is a collaboration between The Hatchery at Emory University and Emory Libraries.
