In this course you will learn how to make a Super Mario-style coin collecting 3D platformer game in Unity. We keep it very simple, so you can learn the fundamentals and not be overwhelmed by concepts that are important to know some day, but not when you're first starting out.
We will be making a controllable character that can walk, turn, and jump. We'll use simple keyboard controls to avoid the complexity of gamepad input. We'll create a really simple coin collecting task that you can expand upon if you like. And finally, we'll learn how to build a simple level that looks cool, but is surprisingly easy to make with a small number of 3D assets, which we provide for you.
In a short period of time, you'll have created your own playable game and you'll have a great starting point for future games you want to build in the 3D platformer genre.
