Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal presents the Narendra Modi-led NDA government's interim budget. He began his first Budget speech by recounting the initiatives taken by the Modi government in its four-year tenure at the Centre. Goyal said that the people of country, who gave a strong mandate to the BJP in 2014, has taken several structural reforms, and reversed the image of policy paralysis to restore the nation's image. He also said India is moving towards building a New India by 2022. Counting the Modi government's achievements, he said the government has broken the back of back-breaking inflation, and that fiscal deficit has been brought down to 3.4 per cent in the revised estimate of 2018-19. He added efforts have been taken to bring full representation for the economically weak backward classes, by giving them reservation in jobs and education. #Budget2019 #BudgetParliament #InterimBudget
