HEALTHY HOT CHOCOLATE
Serves 2
Ingredients
• 2 cups whole raw milk
• 2 Tbs butter
• 2 Tbs & 2 tsp cacao powder
• 3 Tbs & 1 tsp unrefined sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/4 tsp salt
• peppermint extract to taste (optional)
Directions
1. Start heating the butter and a half cup of the milk in a small pot on medium heat. Add the cocoa, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
2. Whisk until well combined, the sugar is completely dissolved, and there are no lumps of cocoa. It may take a couple minutes.
3. Once the cocoa mixture is smooth, reduce heat to low, add the remaining milk, and slowly heat while whisking occasionally.
4. Remove from heat when the desired temperature has been reached (whisk in peppermint extract to taste if desired) and serve immediately with fresh whipped cream.
