RSTP uses Fast /Rapid Convergence Mechanism and used to prevent switching loop
Root Bridge

is elected just like STP with the lowest Bridge-ID
Root Port :

The one Port on Switch which has the best path to the Root Bridge by default Root Bridge has no Root Ports
Designated Port :
==============
Switch Port on a network segment which has the best root path cost to the root
Alternate Port :
============
A port which has an alternate path to the root bridge
suppose an access-layer switch has two uplinks to the distribution layer switch
One will be root port and other one will be the alternate port
Backup Port
================
A port that provides a redundant connection
Port Stages:

Discarding , Learning and Forwarding are the RSTP stages
