In response to public health concerns related to COVID-19, many states are increasing voters’ access to mail balloting—but occasionally, those actions are met with backlash and misinformation. After all, a contentious election tends to bring controversy to the voting process. So, how does mail balloting work? Does access to mail balloting lead to partisan gain or increase the chance of electoral fraud?
