GolfZon Screen Golf in South Korea! (Golf Simulator)
In South Korea, many young people and older people enjoy golf through a virtual golf simulator called
"Screen Golf". This is very popular way for people to practice golf without actually going to a real golf course. Since many people live in cities like Seoul far away from golf courses and playing real golf is very expensive in Korea(Average $200-300 per round), screen golf offers a way for people to practice and enjoy golf. Also, a typical round only takes about an hour per person, so you can easily fit in a round of golf every single day. In the winter, screen golf is a great way to keep your golf game in tune as it snows in Korea.
Cost for Screen Golf average anywhere between $8-30 depending on the time of the day and location. My screen golf is about $12 during the weekdays and around $23 on the weekends.
While screen golf cannot replicate real golf entirely, I actually find it very helpful for practicing tee shots, shots into the green, and also pitch shots. What's missing with screen golf are things like real rough grass, realistic uphill/downhill situations, and putting is entirely based on distance not feel.
There are a few different types of screen golf including GolfZon, GolfZon Park, Kakao Golf, and a few more. I find GolfZon Park is the most accurate in terms of sensors and distance along with bottom putting screen. Korean screen golf has steadily improved over the years and as far as long game, it's very accurate in terms of distance and angles.
If you are a beginner golfer, I definitely think screen golf can help you get better quickly without spending hours on the real golf course. If you ever visit South Korea, definitely try out GolfZon Park as they are nearly all over the country with thousands of locations in every city.
