"Death's A Beach" - A "Beetlejuice" Inspired Halloween Short Film
This is an interesting project because it started as a few shots Luke filmed with his iPhone while on vacation in Destin, FL. Basically all of the opening of the film was done in one take on a janky iphone tripod he bought at walmart. Then Luke and Brad wrote the rest of the film and what was supposed to be a two minute micro-short turned into a full blown nearly 9 minute short film. It was inspired by the masterful work of Tim Burton and in particular the Beetlejuice universe. We didn't want to set it actually in the Beetlejuice world, but we definitely drew a ton of inspiration from the dark humor of Beetlejuice. The concept was based around the idea of calling customer service and constantly being transferred to different departments only to ultimately get cut off. Or like when you go to the doctor and you fill out the same form a million times in a row. It's like that but for eternity haha Please enjoy "DEATH'S A BEACH!"
