The Breakthrough record is symbolic of my journey to enlightenment. It's like a psychological concept similar to the Dunning-Kruger effect. Starting at a point where you know nothing, yet you go down this road of competence seeking knowledge and experience in order to become a guru. I haven't reached this pinnacle in my career yet, but I feel as if I've had a significant "breakthrough" moment while creating this music. When I made this record something clicked in my head. I felt like I was tapping into the nostalgic sounds of house music all while giving it a new modern day twist. The piano, pads, bass, saxophone and percussion give me this warm feeling of happiness that I want to share with the rest of the dance music community." - Mike Nasty
