Breakthrough: Brain Chip Enables Sight for the Visually Impaired
Elon Musk, the boss of Neuralink, Tesla and SpaceX, continues to push the boundaries. The famous entrepreneur has now announced that they have developed an innovative brain implant called Blindsight that will restore sight to the visually impaired.
The new product follows Neuralink's Telepathy implant, which allows users to control computers with their minds. Blindsight could prove to be a groundbreaking development for the visually impaired in the future.
More importantly, the new brain chip could offer sight even for people who were blind from birth. The Blindsight implant works by communicating with the visual cortex of the brain. It mimics signals from the retina to create the sense of sight.
