Hello everyone and welcome to The Magic of Morphing class, in this class you will learn how to morph icons and letters in Adobe After Effects which is the best tool for the job.
So, what is Morphing in animation?
It means the transformation from an object to another object could be an icon to a letter or a shape to Illustration.
There are different techniques for morphing the simple and most used and simple one is one frame morphing animation, there also morphing using the path, position and the size, the splitting technique which consists of splitting the object into several parts then regrouping it to one shape and finally the overlapping method which means when an object disappears another one appears while overlapping through the animation.
Rules for a good morphing:
• Easing and direction of the movement
• Make change at maximum speed.
• Add anticipation and compensating movements.
• Add distracting elements.
So, who is this class for?
This Class is for beginners in motion design wanting to learn the magic of morphing in Logo Animation.
What will you need?
1. Adobe After Effects CC.
2. Duik Angel / Bassel.
3. And the class exercise files that you can download.
Class Project.
For this class project you will be animating a type-logo in Adobe After Effects using vector icons exported from Adobe Illustrator.
These are the steps to complete the project:
• Export the files to After effects.
• Adjust the position of the icons accordingly with the Logo in After Effects.
• Animating then the letters individually to morph each icon with it letter.
• You will need to use custom paths.
• The easing and the speed graph to control the speed of the animation.
• Some effects to animation ribbons and fake 3d rotation.
• And finally, Duik Angela to apply Bouncing and Follow through which help take the animation to the next level.
