Broadcast Assistant
he remit of the role Broadcast Assistant (BA) stretches far and wide. BAs are needed across news in radio, TV, online and On Demand; their role being to help keep broadcasts running smoothly.
BAs might have such tasks as helping produce live shows, working outside the studio for Outside Broadcasts (OBs), making trails for shows, checking running orders, finding and booking guests and experts as well as writing cues, questions and briefs for presenters.
BAs are crucial in making sure that all details and small but important tasks are attended to accurately and against time pressures. This makes them invaluable in any live production team.
