Bound By Flame Gameplay On Ubuntu Linux (Native)
Bound By Flame running natively on Ubuntu 15.10 64bit!
This new title to Linux was a surprise drop by developer Spiders and publisher Focus Home Interactive!
Please do note that any loss of framerate is due to recording the screen with SSR at 60fps. Outside of recording, I maintain 60fps performance in-game.
While Bound by Flame is no Dragon Age Inquisition rpg, it is a welcome addition to RPG lovers who game on Linux. We can't get enough of these high-budget titles.
There are a couple of technical issues with this game that can be an annoyance to some however:
1. Fullscreen gameplay is hardcoded to be capped at 60fps.
2. K+M players may suffer, since the default keybindings are meant for the French population's keyboard layout.
3. Changing settings whilst in mid-game can potentially crash the entire game.
The good side of this port is that it's performance is consistent. The only moments slight stutter happens is when you're entering a new area, or the occassional AI spawn.
Highly recommended to play this title with a 360 controller, and at it's low price during sales it's a steal! Linux RPG gamers should definitely add this title to their library.
