Comuna 13 was one of the most dangerous areas in Medellin and the world but recently, some art projects, murals, and building projects have made it one of the most colorful and interesting areas of Medellin, Colombia. During the 80s, Comuna 13 was considered one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world. It was run by violent organizations that used the poor hillside barrio as a transit route and served as a stronghold for guerrillas and gangs. Today we walk around Comuna 13 to see what this neighborhood is like now and to hear some of the history of this fascinating place.
