I wrote the melody for Time Carries Me in a hotel room during my stay at America’s Got Talent. Back then Albert Camus’ philosophy of absurdism fascinated me like nothing else, and it was his essay “The Myth of Sisyphus” which inspired this track. I don’t consider myself to be a particularly deep or spiritual person, but at that time of great changes in my life most things that happened to me felt absurd. I was facing a new life with a new meaning, and was forced to carry the reality of it all. Now some time has passed, and I don’t have to carry time as much, because, most days, it carries me.
