Alienware Laptop DESTROYED By Owner
An Alienware x17 R2 laptop arrived for repair, unexpectedly revealing its brown and off-white colors. The included note told a story of its owner's self-destruction. Disassembling a gaming laptop to clean it can be tricky and sometimes harmful, as the entire laptop must be removed to change the thermal paste. Upon opening the laptop, the cooling fan had exploded, scattering broken plastic inside. The power button ribbon cable was ripped, making it impossible to turn on the laptop. Fortunately, the damaged LCD cable did not destroy the motherboard. The laptop was then properly cleaned by disassembling it entirely. Installed new thermal paste, a new fan, an LCD ribbon cable, and a replacement power button were installed. After cleaning, another laptop was saved.
