The science of conspiracy theories and why we believe crazy things and even some normal things. Human belief systems have deep ties with our psychology we have over millions of years developed brains that can create stories. Occasionally those stories are conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories don't need to be grand ideas although they often are. people hold themselves together by their belief systems and that along with our desire to believe that the things we think are true actually are actually true creates what's known as an illusory reaction. The backfire effect is one of the most effective things at keeping people stuck in there thinking. the better safe than sorry approach to life also fuel conspiracies, along with an increase in anxiety
