I wouldn't recommend bringing 4 Hydroids into Steel Path Defection Endurance. But if you were ever curious on how you could run Defection for a long time, this is it. Why Hydroid? Depths ran a charity stream almost two months ago and one of the stretch goals was a 4-man L9999 Steel Path Defection all Hydroid team. Needless to say, her community smashed that goal, and I was asked if I wanted to come along. So now we have this.
Hydroid's base kit is scuffed for Defection. His 1 is actually useless, because the augment no longer full strips. His 2 is actually a really cool shield gate tech after DE buffed it a few months ago. His 3 is useless since we want to follow Defectors, not make them camp, and his 4 is expensive and annoying to cast, but can cover choke points. Banish and it's augment, Rift Haven, are the highlights of the build, which allow you to make the Defectors invincible, while also healing them. But perhaps more interesting is the double dip Vigorous Swap synergy with Glaives, which means if I want the big buff, I need to holster my primer when I throw Glaive Prime. Epitaph and Nukor don't allow this, so I actually resorted to an interesting Tenet Envoy Primer build. I'm sure you'll like it's utility, and the spammability of it belies the supposedly slow fire rate. You'll definitely see me use it more in the future. The rest? You'll have to watch to find out.
