The rapper has been officially pronounced dead, as confirmed by the Broward Co. Sherriff Department. Though details of his death remain scarce, the reports indicate that he was likely murdered, shot in his car during a potential drive-by.
As of now, TMZ has shared that the shooter were two black males wearing hoodies; one has been said to have worn a red mask. According to a dispatch report, the getaway car was a black Dodge Durango. That's all we know so far.
The rapper, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was twenty at the time of his passing. His albums 17 and ? earned him critical and commercial success, and he will no doubt be remembered through his work. Condolences go out to his friends and family. Rest in peace XXXTentacion.
